Quick FAQ

Microblading lasts for about 18 months, depending on your skin and lifestyle. You can do additional touch ups to extend the duration of the treatment.

Most people report little or no pain during microblading, but everyone experiences pain differently. Some people describe the feeling of microneedles in their skin like light cat scratches or papercuts. After the microblading treatment, you might experience redness and slight swelling - most people describe it as a feeling similar to a light sunburn.

Microblading is a two-step process: the initial procedure and the microblading touch up. The first session will take about 2,5 hours. After 6 weeks, you will need to do a touch up. This second session takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Timi's Eyebrow Shading

Special techniques: eyebrow shading and eyebrow ombre

Timi’s experienced eyebrow artist masters advanced techniques to give every client the perfect look and shape.

At our salon in Ho Chi Minh City, we offer three different forms of semi-permanent eyebrow makeup. The most well-known one is microblading: the treatment in which soft strokes of pigment are applied under the skin.

The other two treatments, microshading and the ombre technique, are a bit different: the eyebrows are filled in with small dots, which creates a powder-filled result. These techniques can be used on their own, or in combination with microblading.

Microshading

Microshaded brows, or ‘powder brows’ as they’re often called, look similar to eyebrows with makeup. The powdered effect comes from the special equipment and techniques: a rotary tool and a stippling method.

Microshading can be an option for people with sensitive or oily skin, because the technique takes better to their skin type. On top, it’s perfect for people with thicker eyebrows that only require a bit of shaping.

If you’re looking for a microshading treatment, make sure you find an artist who has received a specialized training. Shading is an advanced treatment and a microblading certification alone will not do.

Add some shading to the blading

For most people, however, shading is the next step of microblading. The pinlike points that the rotary tool makes, add depth and texture to your bladed brows.

In short: microshading will give you the soft, misty make-up look, while it’s smudge- and waterproof and looks completely natural.

Eyebrow ombre

The ombre effect is a type of microshading where the eyebrow artist uses two different colors, one light and one a bit darker. Ombre brows are lighter at the beginning of the brow, and fade into a darker color towards the tails.

For many people, the result looks more natural than one solid color. The name ‘ombre’ comes from French, it means shaded or shading.
